Director of Photography MICHAEL BRUEGGEMEYER will take us, from start to finish, through the complete process of using the chroma key effect to composite a finished scene ready for air. Using a model shot live in front of a green screen background, Mike will composite the live action shot in the Groovy studio over a location background shot in a different location using a different camera. The process will begin in the studio with instruction on lighting the green background and then a demonstration of lighting the talent in a very deliberate way. As the lights are set up and moved into location, Mike will explain his methods of lighting and the theory behind the lighting plan. A recording of the model and the green screen will be made and then the camera files will be sent to a Final Cut Pro edit system for color correction and the final composiiton. If you have created chroma key composites, or even just shot the green screen, then you understand how challenging this work can be. Learn new ways of thinking about lighting and how you use the power of your edit system to achieve the results you want for your next production. Some guests of SDF
