What happens inside your camera when video is recorded is only the beginning. As video is compressed, moved through your edit system, bits and bytes are smashed about and somehow your project comes out the other end. Find out what is going on in your camera and editing system as your project moves through the pipeline and how you can get the most from the tools you have. David will explain what compression is doing to your video and share some insight on the future of digital video.
About David Newman: David is the Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of CineForm, a San Diego based company specializing in digital video compression and compression based workflow. David's desire to make film and video production fast and flexible—at the highest quality—is driven by a personal interest in film as both a consumer and as a producer. David has spent 17 years in engineering design and management, developing both hardware and software solutions in the field of digital video and holds a bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering from Curtin University in Perth Australia.
